ICOYC - 2011 Cruise in the Pacific Northwest

5.-13. September 2011

The Council's annual cruise is not just for the Commodores! We are keen to introduce our international friends to the wonderful hidden corners of our cruising area - the Pacific Northwest. Come join us on the 2011 ICOYC Cruise in the beautiful American San Juan and Canadian Gulf Islands on the newly named Salish Sea in the Pacific Northwest.

What: Seattle Yacht Club and Royal Vancouver Yacht Club have organized a ten day cruise through their favorite cruising waters, visiting SYC and RVYC outstations and the famous cities of Victoria and Sidney by the Sea on the southern end of British Columbia's Vancouver Island. The fleet is thirty strong - ten member boats each from SYC and RVYC escorting ten chartered power and sail boats carrying members of ICOYC clubs from around the world.

Highlights: Ten days on the water (5-13 September), about 300 km of cruising, four isolated island outstations, one small city (Victoria), one town containing nearly a dozen bookstores (Sidney), an island village hosting a large farmers' and artists' Saturday fair (Ganges), several catered events, free time for exploring, great sailing opportunities, SYC Greenboxes®, RVYC bocce ball tournament.

Information: Go to www.SeattleYachtClub.org and click on Activities/ICOYC 2011 Forum/Cruise. You can find information on chartering boats, a detailed itinerary, costs, the downloadable registration form, a list of web sites to visit, and a photo slide show showing how nice cruising in the PNW can be.

Openings: We have space for four more boats flying the ICOYC burgee. Do you want to join us? Form a group of 4-6 fellow ICOYC club members and select your charter boat from the official providers. Read all of the details on the cruise website, download the registration form and send it in. Email your questions to ICOYCcruise2011(at)SeattleYachtClub.org.
