Success is manageable. The future lies in our hands and this is where it should be: The future of our next generation sailors. The NRV proves this time and again very emphatically through youth development schemes that are unique in the regatta scene. By way of these schemes individual talented youngsters are encouraged, monitored and guided. This is support provided in addition to the youth development scheme.

The NRV Youth Team consists of sailors (male / female) in the Optimist A, Teeny, 420er, 470er, Laser Radial and Laser Standard boat classes.

Criteria for acceptance:

1. To be among the first 25% in the German rankings
2. Meeting the physical requirements (fitness, physique)
3. 420er, Laser Radial: age below 19
4. 470er, Laser Standard, Laser Radial (female): age below 26

For transfer to another class (e.g. from Opti to a 420) the criterion for acceptance is the performance in the previous boat class.

Support provided for members of the NRV Youth Team:

Apart from training sessions and competitive regattas:

1. Team clothing
2. Annual medical examination by a specialist in sports medicine
3. Analysis of nutrition based on sports medicine
4. Preference in allocation of club boats

Obligations of members of the NRV Youth Teams

1. To participate in all NRV training schemes
2. To wear team clothing at regattas (especially during award ceremonies)
3. To observe doping regulations
4. To refrain from any alcohol during training and competitions
5. To undergo examination by a specialist in sports medicine

Any infringement of these commitments leads to exclusion from the NRV Youth Team
