Youth Work
The NRV as the largest German sailing club has been reaping the fruits of its systematic work with young people for a long time. Since 1918 the youth section has had its own tradition, today a very vivid one for interested youngsters that includes courses during the school holidays and adventure weeks often with a short-term membership to arouse their talent.
No less than three youth trainers (male / female) look after the young generation and create the sporting atmosphere characteristic of the club. Club dinghies are moored at the Alster jetties and the Elbe clubhouse at Muehlenberg, while on the Baltic coast the NRV Youth Training Centre at Hohen Wieschendorf provides intensive training. Some members make their boats available to young people, even in some cases for sailing cruises. Practicing the crew ethos and experiencing the NRV spirit are among the priority aims of the unwritten inter-generational contract with the NRV youth section.
If you would like to apply for sailing courses please contact the youth office by telephone: +4940-55 77 99 5-10 or e-mail: jugend@nrv.de .
