Cruising

There is an almost holy tradition of long voyages in the NRV. By 1923 already there was a cruising section in the club and early logbooks relate to who just ventured out from the mouth of the Elbe river as far as Scotland or the North Cape. Even during a calm NRV cruise enthusiasts will enjoy scanning the horizon or picturesque coasts. They form a small but venturesome fleet within the club. This group has sailed its way to numerous awards for seafaring achievement. Some members have also been honoured for making cruises available to young people on family yachts, some of these during the NRV's annual autumn trips.
