As one of the few buildings located directly on the banks of the Outer Alster, the NRV clubhouse has enjoyed the finest location since 1932. "Schöne Aussicht" – literally translated: "Beautiful view" - has always been the name of the adjacent street and rightly so. From here members and their guests can enjoy the finest panoramic view of the Alster and the city`s skyline – with the club's own marina at their feet.

Yet the NRV feeling of being at home is also cultivated in other places. Since 1971 the Elbe sailors have been based at the NRV's Elbe clubhouse at the Mühlenberger dinghy harbour, while Baltic waters have been accessible from the NRV youth training centre at the Marina Hohen Wieschendorf in Mecklenburg since 2005.
